Clayton Kershaw Book Signing

Clayton Kershaw made an appearance at Costco to sign copies of his new book "Arise". Clayton's wife Ellen was also at this event since she co wrote the book.

Here it is quick and simple.

The event guidelines were posted near the autograph line.

More rules that were posted by Costco.

Clayton and his wife Ellen arrived early and began signing right away.

Here is Clayton signing my book.

Costco staff didn't want people to do posed pics with Clayton. They only wanted
fans to snap quick photos of Clayton signing their book. Whatever.

One lucky fan got an outside item signed. He got on his knees and
begged Clayton to sign his photo and it worked. No joke.

Here is s short video of the signing.

Instead of my name I had Clayton personalize my book to this blog.
I guess it's something different.

Thanks to Costco, Clayton, and Ellen Kershaw for this event. I would also
like to thank Rafael who helped me out since I didn't have a Costco card.

  1. I went to the Costco siging on Monday in Los Feliz. I arrived an hour early and could not believe only about 10 people were inline at that time. By the time the Kershaw's arrived I don't think there were anymore that 30 or 40 inline and he was done with the line by 12:30.One guy in line got about 12 books signed. After he finished the line a few of us approached Clayton and asked for posed pics. He stayed seated and we stood next to him and had our pic taken with him. After the initial line finished at 12:30 I hung around to wait for a buddy who never showed. Very few fans came up to get a book signed after that. Maybe 30 or 40 at the most. The Kershaws were siging books for the publisher while waiting for customers to approach them. Gosh what a difference from the Living Spaces event last July.
I was so surprised how few fans showed up with it being durring the lunch hour when they had the signing. I think the fact that it was held on a work day after a holiday had a lot to do with it. But the signing could have gone no better. Probably the easiest autograph I ever got Nice to get a pic with him too.

    1. I did hear ugly stories from his Living Spaces appearance. Glad to hear you had a good time.

  2. All you have to do is say the magic words, "no personal items will be signed" and then no one will show up.

  3. That is true. At the same time sometimes you have to take the risk. I have been to book signings where outside items were signed even though staff said the book only. In the end it's always up to the person signing whether he wants to or not.
